My name is Bill Jakeway.  I am the baby brother of three sisters.  I was raised by my mom – dad was pretty much out of the picture since I was around five.  What I saw as a normal life, many others saw as dysfunctional.  In all truth, it was very dysfuctional.

I am currently a hosting representative for the #1 online hosting company and domain registrar.  Prior to that I was the Media Pastor for Lighthouse Church – now FreshStart Church – in Peoria, Arizona.  I’ve been at FreshStart since I moved to Arizona in 1979 and married my wonderful wife in July 1980.  For the first 20 or so years my wife and I volunteered in the children’s ministry and we were brought on as the children’s  pastors in January 2000.  In approximately 2003 I was asked to make a video and for the next 6 years I made many more videos.  In January 2009, after much prayer, I became the full-time media pastor.  My wife is in charge of the church bookstore.  A lot of things have transpired over the years which ultimately led to my being no longer employed at the church.

I grew up in a very legalistic family.  Pretty much everything was a sin.  My mom said that if she couldn’t imagine Paul and Silas doing it, we weren’t going to either.  Which meant very little fun.

Now I am recovering from legalism and making a journey towards liberty.
